The British Sub-Aqua Club (B.S.A.C.) have branches and schools throughout the world,
Hexham being one. As part of this international organisation we take part in many
events promoted by B.S.A.C. If you have recently had a Try-Dive with our branch
you may be interested in learning more about the sport and our club.
Hexham Sub-Aqua Club offer Club Diver training throughout the Autumn and Winter
for those who take up membership. We meet on a Wednesday night at 7:30 in the R.A.F.A.
Club, 2 Market Place, Hexham and train in Hexham pool during the Autumn and Winter.
B.S.A.C. annual subscriptions are £47 (£32 abated) and £17 for students. Hexham S.A.C. have an
annual fee of £80 (£40 for students and abated members) payable in one lump sum
or by standing order. An initial charge of £32 will be made for the new members
training pack. Members have the use of the pool on club nights throughout Autumn
and Winter, all practical and theoretical instruction with the use of club equipment
during Ocean Diver pool training and your Ocean Diver qualifying dives.
On joining the club, members are advised to buy their own mask, fins and snorkel
as a good fit is essential and club equipment may be in great demand.
To continue training members are advised to purchase their own equipment although
this may be hired for a nominal fee through the club. Members will require a wetsuit,
semi-dry or drysuit to complete open water training in spring as we do not have
suits for hire. Club members are always on hand to give advice on the purchase of
equipment.
